Northwest Tech named Apple Distinguished Program

Goodland, Kansas -- January, 13, 2012 -- Northwest Tech is pleased to announce that it has been named an Apple Distinguished Program for its iPad Mobile Learning Initiative.

The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that are recognized centers of educational excellence and leadership.

College President Dr. Ed Mills said “Over the past two years we’ve been leading the way for implementation of the iPad at Northwest Tech. Recognition from Apple is an exciting indicator of the great progress our college has made with advanced technology to prepare our graduates for the workforce.” The selection of Northwest Tech as an Apple Distinguished Program highlights its successes in enhancing and extending teaching and learning with thoughtful and innovative implementations of technology. iPad and Apple TV are bringing Northwest Tech students closer to their learning materials than they have ever been before and increasing collaboration between both students and faculty.

Every program at Northwest Tech emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world experience in the field, supported by complete iPad integration in the classroom. Instructors work hard to help students connect mind, hand and heart, and the iPad Mobile Learning Initiative is helping faculty make that a reality.
