Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
About
This program is designed for individuals interested in providing medical care to patients in the pre-hospital setting. It will provide participants with opportunities to gain information, skills, and attitudes necessary for certification and practice as an Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Kansas and the National Registry of EMT’s.
Schedule
Days, times, and locations for the EMT class are listed in the class schedule and may vary each semester.
To register for this certification course, please complete the registration form at least three months prior to the beginning of the upcoming semester, as follows:
- Spring Semester (classes start in January) - register by October 1
- Fall Semester (classes start in August) - register by June 1
*NOTE: we must have a minimum enrollment of 6 students and a maximum of 12 students to offer the course. If we do not meet that threshold, students will be notified and asked if they want to be on a waiting list for the next semester."
Pre-Requisites
The following items are required for the course:
- High School Diploma or GED
High school seniors are considered. - At Least 18 Years of Age
An EMT student must be at least 18 years of age to challenge State Board and National Registry Tests. - A Valid Driver’s License
- An Earnest Desire to Help Other People
