    SOIL CONSERVATION TECHNICIAN: Position involves work outdoors visiting landowners, traversing uneven terrain, evaluating conservation best management practices, designing practices, overseeing construction, checkout, and more. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Requirements: background in conservation or agriculture (A two year degree with agriculture classes would substitute for background in conservation or agriculture), ability to communicate effectively and work well with people, valid Kansas state driver’s license, and pass a security background investigation, as required by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. Prairie Farms employs new technology to operate and manage their equipment and farming. Job title: Mechanic and operator Job description: Primary mechanic focus with ability to operate equipment. Manage, maintain and operate equipment and facilities, including farm machinery, irrigation engines and systems, semis and trailers, vehicles, grain storage and sheds. Document operation and maintenance activities. Participate in irrigation on-call rotation. Perform assigned tasks and projects.

    Job Description *

    Sentera is seeking 2021 summer intern candidates with knowledge, experience, and interest in the fields of farming, agronomy, precision agriculture, unmanned aircraft systems, GIS, and remote sensing. Ideal candidates will look to apply these skills toward collecting and analyzing images of farm fields captured by drones.

    Duties

    1. Flight test and collect aerial imagery using small unmanned aircraft
    2. Create and follow test plans and project schedules
    3. Communicate and coordinate with customers
    4. Travel to farm locations for flight operations (mostly day trips)
    5. Process flight test and imaging sensor data
    6. Write status reports and blog posts

    Qualifications
    Pursuing a college degree in a field related
