Maverick Enrollment Days

Welcome to Northwest Tech!

As a first-year student at Northwest Tech, you are an incredibly important part of the campus and community.

Transitioning to Northwest Tech is an exciting time, and you are faced with unique challenges ranging from getting connected on campus, choosing a technical program, meeting new people on campus, getting involved in the community and more.

Maverick Enrollment Days and Pre-Registration sessions are dedicated to assisting first-year students in a successful transition to Northwest Tech.

Plan to join us for one of our Maverick Enrollment Days and Pre-Registration sessions on the Northwest Tech campus. You will learn more about Northwest Tech, meet with an academic advisor, be guided through the class selection process, tour departments and housing facilities, and meet with financial aid. All of our enrollment sessions are one-day events with check-in at the Northwest Tech Admin Building.

Activities start promptly at 8:00 a.m or 1:00 p.m. Depending on what session you attend.

Before You Come

Step 1: Register for the event

Register online for one of the Maverick Enrollment Days or contact Northwest Tech’s Admissions Team by calling 785.890.3641.

Step 2: Complete your admissions file
By submitting the following items to the Northwest Tech Admissions office you will complete your admissions file:

A Northwest Tech Application Completed and Submitted
High School or GED Transcript Submitted
ACT or AccuPlacer scores taken within the last two years
Completed FAFSA using Northwest Tech’s School Code: 005267

The Day’s Activities

Check-In at 8:00 AM or 1:00 PM (MST)
Pick up the necessary enrollment materials and instructions from the Northwest Tech Admin Building. Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. or 1:00 PM to take part in the day’s activities.

Brief Welcome
The program officially begins with a welcome from Northwest Tech President, Ben Schears, at 8:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m.

Appointments with Advisors
Meet with your advisor to review previous academic records and select courses for the fall. Collect a printout of your schedule specifying courses, days, times, etc.

Housing Tours
If you are interested in living in one of Northwest Tech’s residential spaces, you may tour the dorms on one of the Maverick Enrollment Days. Sign up for a tour at the Enrollment Day that you attend.

Required Down Payments
Please expect to pay down payments on books, clothing, housing, and tools while you are at the Maverick Enrollment Days. Some programs do not require uniforms and/or tools, and therefore down payments for these items will not be required for specified programs. A $200 down payment for housing reserves your space within Northwest Tech’s housing. If you plan to live off-campus the housing fee will not apply.

Test Scores
The AccuPlacer Test is a computer-adaptive college placement test. Northwest Tech uses the AccuPlacer Test to place students in appropriate courses. AccuPlacer Testing is available on the Northwest Tech campus. Please contact Northwest Tech’s admissions office to schedule a testing time.

Other Activities

Have your Student ID picture taken.
Complete Financial Aid procedure.
Explore off-campus housing options.
Take a department tour.
Meet with athletic coaches.

Maverick Enrollment sessions are held in the Northwest Tech Administration Building, located at 1209 Harrison, Goodland, KS 67735. Please view the campus map for additional detail.

Parking
Parking at Northwest Tech is free. Please view the campus map for recommended parking spaces.
