First Annual Ag Expo To Be Hosted At Northwest Tech

Goodland, KS. (08/21/2018)  – Northwest Tech will be hosting its first annual Ag Expo on August 29, 2018. The Tech’s Ag Expo aims to bring a variety of educational activities, commercial demonstrations, and exhibits to the community as well as to landowners, students, families and anyone who wants to know more about agriculture.

The morning of the event is dedicated to our Water Technology Farms Field Day with the Kansas Water Office, followed by lunch and a panel discussion with KARTA, and an afternoon of vendor exhibits and demonstrations at the Precision Ag Tech Farm. Big Iron will also be having an auction with proceeds going to the Precision Ag program and local FFA chapters. Local FFA students, college students, growers, and the general public are all invited. In addition, all Ag and related vendors are encouraged to participate with the promotion of their goods and services. We will also be opening our 40-acre precision-planted corn maze at the Tech Farm to all attendees. The maze costs just $3 per person over 5 and stays open till 7pm so bring the kids after school. The maze proceeds go to the Precision Ag student activities fund (tours, travel costs, food, etc.), and into making our September/October maze entertainment worth coming back for.

“The Precision Agriculture program at Northwest Tech is expanding by leaps and bounds and working to impact the conversation about water, technology, and agriculture,” said President Ben Schears, “…The program has taken an incredible leap forward with the addition of our new Water Technology Farm - a 240 acre live operational farm incorporating some of the latest agriculture and water technology.”

Registration is required if you want to take advantage of the free lunch we'll be hosting in the Union.  Event Registration:
