Northwest Tech Names New Head Women's Basketball Coach

Northwest Tech has recently welcomed a new Women’s Basketball head coach to the Maverick Family. Brock Kimball, originally from Texas, graduated from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. Kimball says the best part of coaching is seeing his team grow as individual players and watching them compete.

“Coach Brock is a great, down to earth, guy,” said President Ben Schears, “…and he’s got the drive and passion to take this program into our first year in the conference.”

Kimball has been coaching at the college level for the past five years. The previous three years, he coached at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas as an assistant women’s coach under Cayla Petree. Kimball started his college-coaching career as the assistant men’s coach at Angelo State University under Chris Beard, who is currently the head coach at Texas Tech. Kimball has held impressive records at each school.

“My expectations for this year is to set an extremely solid foundation for the program”, said Kimball, “and find a group of players that want to be coached. I want to develop a tough, hard-nosed identity and earn the right to win basketball games”

Northwest Tech is very excited to welcome Brock Kimball to campus and eager to see what the Lady Mavericks will achieve this season.
