New Faces at Northwest Tech

Goodland, KS. (09/04/2018)  – Northwest Tech is pleased to announce the recent hiring of a few new staff members that have become a part of the Maverick Family!

As you pass by the Academic & Student Affairs Department, you’ll notice a new face. Mr. Matt Pounds has joined our team in the role of Dean of Academic Advancement. Mr. Pounds comes to us with 8 years experience as a teacher and he also served 23-years as a school principal. Mr. Pounds lives in Burlington, CO and his favorite thing at Northwest Tech, so far, is meeting new coworkers who come to work everyday and are purposeful in helping others to be successful.

Hayley Hales is also new to the Academic & Student Affairs Department. Hayley is Northwest Tech’s new Director of Outreach. Hayley coordinates with area high schools so students are able to take college credit courses through Northwest Tech. She is originally from Longview, Texas and enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and most of all, spending time with friends and family.

Next up, we have a new position in the Business Office. Alaina Long is Northwest Tech’s first Student Account Specialist. Alaina is originally from Logan, KS and she enjoys camping, fishing, traveling, and binge watching shows on Netflix. “I like how supportive everyone is,” said Alaina, “working at Northwest Tech feels like working with family. Everyone is friendly and caring”. Alaina also commented on how involved the college is within the surrounding counties, and she appreciates representing an institution that is committed to community.

Finally, we welcome Natalia Barrera as the newest Admissions’ Representative. Natalia is a Goodland native who enjoys photography, traveling, and makeup. Natalia is great with prospective students when giving tours and going to high school visits. Natalia’s favorite part about working for Northwest Tech, so far, is the positive energy, “We all get along so well”, said Natalia, “and I get to meet new people everyday!”

Northwest Tech is very excited to welcome our new team members to the Maverick Family. We wish them a successful school year!
